    Question 1
SteelCo structure its architecture function in terms of necessary architecture positions

    Answer
Enterprise architecture refers to the practice of analysis, plan, design and execution to achieve the business strategies. It helps the organizations in structuring the architecture for the IT projects to remain on the top in the market with the help of the architectural principles and frameworks like TOGAF and Zachman (Lapalme et al, 2016). SteelCo is a huge enterprise with two broad division alpha and beta. The architectural structure of the alpha division is very conservative however, it is smoothly functioning. The conservative technology of the organization can be modified using the TOGAF framework in the enterprise architecture (Kotusev, 2018). However, it is a complex method but it considers all the components of the organization and designs with an aim to achieve common goals. The enterprise architecture is a tool which provides answer to the questions of how and what in the organization. The company can train the architects of the company to provide effective utilization of the tool. The collaboration of the different parts of the organization are needed to be considered for effective management of the organization.  This sets up the strong outcomes and also increase the overall efficiency of the business in effective manner.
The company has various architectures working for it and they me be utilised to improve the IT goals of company. The different positions of the architects should have trained employees to develop effective decisions for the development and success of the organization.

    Question 2
Number of Architects does the company need for each of these positions and explanation.

    Answer
The company manifest a high number of architects in the different alpha and beta divisions. These architects are responsible for designing a planned outline of the organization to add to the success of the organization. The number of architects can be assigned different positions in the company for well understanding and movement of the information. The head of the architecture position are responsible for making effective decisions for installation of the new technology. 4-5 architects are enough to manage the decision making role in different parts of the alpha division. The beta division is quite broader therefore, requires greater number of architects for making decisions. Around 10-12 group of people would be enough for every subdivision of the beta division.

    Question 1
An operating model of MultiCorp and each of its three strategic business units?

    Answer
MultiCorp is a multi- profile organization whose services are diverse. The operating model is a structured process which divides the complex organization into simpler components. The operating model, therefore, manages the overall functions more smoothly and effectively by assigning different leaders for different components. For example, the MultiCorp organization would be a complex one if it does not divide it into components for enhancing the production and global recognition. The three divisions, alpha, beta and gamma are engaged in providing different services to the customers under different brand name. This reduces the chances of getting interfered by different operating ventures of the same firm. The alpha division has divided its services into different parts to manage the services effectively. The beta division, which deals in restaurants have assigned different operators for different branches of the hotels. Similarly, the gamma division manages the function by getting closer to the customers to receive life long loyalty from them.

    Question 2

Division of the functions in the organization is the standardized business process in MultiCorp where all three divisions have managed to achieve success by reaching more customers. The alpha division controls the production and transportation of the product in a controlled manner so that it reaches the customers without delays. Similarly, the beta division of the company have standardized the business process by keeping the environment similar in all the geographical regions where it functions. Moreover, it provides similar menu of fast food so customers do not remain site specific for food. The gamma division uses the customer support as the business process to procure the customer satisfaction and long term loyalty from them.

    Answer

    Question 1
What is wrong with the installed EA tool?

    Answer
The basic function of the EA tool is to provide the company with architectural designs and updates to improve the business in a competitive market. The company installed the EA tool same motive but the extent of its access was limited (Hinkelmann et al, 2016). An EA tool should be accessible to all and should be of a reasonable price to enhance the productivity of the IT department. The installed tool was very expensive and it cannot be used by more than 4-5 architects of the company. Moreover, it does not facilitate in the process of decision making which is foundation for the growth of the organization.  The main function of the EA tool is to provide the company with improved business and IT alignment. However, the installed EA tool was fulfilling the conditions to some extent but at a high cost. Therefore, the decision of the company is not supported by the CIO because he thinks that such an expensive tool is not worthy for just a repository function. Nonetheless, he has also supported his decision with his own undertaken work program and strategic planning in which he realise that the taken work is not effective and will increase the cost of the business.

    Question 2
Is the tool adding value to FinCorp?

    Answer
A tool adds value to the organization if it largely favours the growth of the organization. An effective decision making process ensures the success of the organization to great extents even in a highly competitive market. The tool installed in the FinCorp does provide some value to the organization. The architects in the company were capable of documenting the IT landscape and associating the business processes with the EA repositories. This association updated the information in the EA repository to keep it current (Rouhani et al, 2015). However, the decision making was not facilitated in the organization which can affect it in the long run. The value added to the organization with the installation of the enterprise architecture tool is short term and can cause lethality to the functionality of the organization. Moreover, the effectivity of the tool decreases due to its costly price and maintenance which requires highly trained workforce.
