In recent days social networking is becoming a new trend to promote or spread the business. Here the study will point out the advantages of social networking as well as disadvantages.     The steps in relation to qualitative research that will be followed in this research study for gathering ideas about how usage of social networking benefits the business of Woolworths. Based on this qualitative research, some steps are to be followed based on which quality data about the research topic will be analyzed (Taylor et al. 2015, p.33). The main steps that are incorporated under qualitative research are as follows: 

    Setting up basic research questions to analyze the main reason behind carrying out the research. 

    Effective selection of the topic, which in this research study is analysis of how social networking impacts business of Woolworths 

    Collection of relevant data in response to this particular research concept is to find out the level of impact that social networking creates to Woolworths and world business as a whole.  

    Analysis and interpretation of the data that will be gathered based on the research topic to find out the correct impact level. 

    Formulation of conceptual framework to carry out the research in an effective way.

    Reaching to a conclusion finding out how much have the social networking impacted Woolworths in particular and world’s business as a whole. 

    Approaches to reliability and validity

    Reliability as well as validity is the two important factors that should be considered in relation to qualitative research. These factors are taken under consideration for effective designing of the study, analysis of the data that are gathered and judge the quality of the research that is carried out. In this research, the reliability and validity of the two important factors that will be considered to judge the quality of the data that will be gathered based on the impact level of social networking in Woolworths. According to Silverman (2016, p.29) reliability is that kind of measure which judge whether the data that will be gathered in this research study is reliable or not to give out effective outcomes or results. In this study, judging the data that will be gathered about Woolworths are reliable or not to analyze the level of social networking impact on its business. According to Brown et al. (2017, p.153) validity is considered in a qualitative research to analyze whether the data are valid or not to be incorporate in the research study. In this study, analyzing whether the data that will be gathered about Woolworths needs to be valid that further helps in understanding the level of social networking impact on its business.

    Sampling and sample size

    In sampling technique, the use of simple random sampling is effective in order to collect information about the research study (Panneerselvam, 2014, p.28). Based on sampling technique, in qualitative research, non-probability sampling is followed. The reason behind this choice is that the samples should be accumulated in such a manner that it does not provide any chance for selection. According to Choy (2014, p.99) this particular research study focuses on convenience sampling as a part of non-probability sampling for gathering data about the impact level of social networking in the business success of Woolworths. Gathering the data through this technique required consideration of managers of the concerned company which is Woolworths in qualitative research. The sample sizes that will be considered are 3 managers of Woolworths.

    Data collection method  

    From the required sample size and sampling technique, the required data for this particular study will be gathered needs to be chosen proper data collection method (Wiek and Lang, 2016, p.31). In qualitative data, the method in relation to data collection that is chosen is interview process. For gathering data about the impact level of social networking in relation to Woolworths business, interview of the 3 managers will be done. Based on the interview process, open-ended questionnaire will be framed to gather data from the 3 managers.  

    Quantitative research 

    The steps of process the quantitative research will include the some basic parts for analyzing the data about the social networking impacts on the business of woolworths company. The data will be quantified for generalizing the study and testing the theory. According to Taylor et al. ( 2015, p.33) in the case of quantitative research some steps will be followed for analyzing the collected data. There are some main steps which will be included:

    Data collection method  

    From the required sample size and sampling technique, the required data for this particular study will be gathered needs to be chosen proper data collection method. According to Fletcher (2017, p.181) in quantitative data, the method in relation to data collection that is chosen is survey process. For gathering data about the impact level of social networking in relation to Woolworth’s business, survey of 57 employees will be done. Based on the interview process, close-ended questionnaire will be framed to gather data from 57 employees of Woolworths.   


     An overview of roles of the social networking system is analysed that highlights its influence on the Woolworths Company will be presented through the study. Here the study mainly will focus on the advantages and disadvantages of the social networking system on the growth of the business. Through figuring out the downsides of this networking system the researcher will make decision that how to overcome it. Here the study will shed a light on the qualitative and quantitative process that how to gather the data and analyze them to find the impacts of social networking. The reliability of the social networking system will be tested in this study and also the validity of the collected data will examined thoroughly.
