The international monetary system aims at facilitating cross border investment, trade and allocation of money among different nations. It has been found that value of US dollar is increasing in the recent years. The reports by international monetary system have found that value of Euro has decreased in relation to US dollar. There are various reason behind rise of US dollars. Its rose influences the price of gold. It can be said that there is an inverse relation between gold and US dollar. Donald trump is trying to bring a change in the economic policies of United States that include investing in infrastructure. This study is going to focus on the effect of policies formulated by Trump for increasing the value of dollar in the international monetary fund. The thesis statement of this study is to investigate the reason behind the increasing value of dollar and provide appropriate administrative policies of Donald Trump, which are helping to increase dollar’s value.

Trump’s policy changing dollar’s position in international monetary system:-

The administrative policies of Donald trump has been influencing lives of Americans. There has been much debate regarding extent to which his policies will change America’s future. Recently, Trump has put restriction on immigration policies. The President made documentation mandatory for immigrating citizens. One of his major steps is to increase the value of US dollar in the international market. Data gathered from stock market have shown that index of US dollar have almost blasted to 106.27 in September from 103.74 (Ocasio, 2016). One of the main reasons behind this hike is the ECB cutting rates. The data is indicating the fact that economy of United States will encounter a significant growth in the future. However, future of US dollar highly depends upon monetary policies. Trump has tried to devise policies that will lead to future hike in the position of US dollar. One such policy is putting restrictions on outsourcing of workers of at carrier’s Indiana to Mexico. As per the perspective of the President, he wanted to secure job whereas worker have a completely contrasting viewpoint. Workers, viewpoint contradicted to this as they found that this policy would not be able to save their job.

The main agenda set by the President is to turn dollar into a global currency (Okafor et al. 2017). This was not the first time that dollar was aimed at converting into gold. In the year 1971 President Nixon, tried to attempt to convert dollar but it failed. Under influence of John Connolly, the then president suspended this conversion. Monetary systems that are based on reserve currency prices are found to be unsustainable. An increase in the official dollar is almost equal to net exports of the whole world. There will a problem faced by the American President while addressing merchandise trade deficit. This is because he will realize that position of dollar, as global currency is a real economic burden. The Mueller’s Wall street journal finds out three options that can be adopted by the president (forbes.com/sites/ralphbenko, 2017).

Firstly, turning the IMS (International monetary fund) into issuing paper of world central bank is a major step taken by Trump towards bringing a change. Secondly, to muddle under standard of dollar and third is to formulate a gold standard on an international level. The second option will not sound suitable to the President because it will be antithetical to Trump’s commitment to economic growth. He is intended to grow economy by 3% vaster in compare to its growth in the past 17 years. According to the viewpoint of Trump, economy can grow only with the income mobility of the employees and by creating job. Again, transforming IMF into world central bank will be an anathema to his economic nationalism. Therefore, Trump is left with the option of modernising gold standard (Nunns et al. 2016).

It has been found that Trump has an affinity towards gold. As per his opinion, America’s economy will be benefited from improvement in the gold standard. In an interview on WMUR, the president told the interviewer that gold standard forms the basis of a country's economy. During the interview rump made a comment that America does not have gold and due to which he has been criticized. Generally, there is a common view that in compare to countries like Germany, US has more gold (Mashaw & Berke, 2015). Although the president wanted to bring back gold in economy but the people of America does not want to get back to the golden age. Under the rule of Clinton, America saw an increase in the standard of gold in their economy. This period can be institutionally called a golden age. During this period, almost 20 million jobs were created in US. However, after this golden period, America faced lack of employment opportunities. After looking into the inadequate employment opportunities in America, Trump decide to bring back the golden period by increasing job opportunities.

Trump tried to cut spending of the government. However, he planned to aim at minimizing deficit by generating revenues. Instead, Trump cut on educational funding by $10.4 billion (qz.com/1037163. 2017). The US president declared that he is going to increase budget on defense by 10%. Trump started a campaign that helps in developing infrastructure for protecting the country from cyber attacks. In the history of American governance, the former presidents have been able to create job opportunities more in compare to the recent president. In this year, US president established a plan and named it as ‘Rebuild America’. This project will require an investment of $200 billion. According to Hong (2016), this plan will reduce permit process. The plan that is made by Trump is required to be properly checked by the president for assuring that his plan will going to create apprentices. Construction is regarded as one of the most effective way to use dollars for creating employment opportunities. A study conducted by Amherst found that with an investment of 1 billion dollar in the public works have generated almost 19,795 jobs (Johnson, 2015).

Trump’s way of approaching America's problem can be considered as a lack of employment opportunities. His initiative of eliminating outsourcing and to bring back jobs from Japan as well as from Mexico will try to create job opportunities in the country. There has been a considerable hike in the value of dollar in the year 2014. Therefore, it was found that this hike has increased labor cost of America more expensive in compare to countries like Mexico and India. In case of China, although their currency has been fixed to dollar, but their labor cost has undergone a drastic increase to 25 percent (forbes.com/sites/ralphbenko. 2017). This situation is likely to create loss to United States. One of the main goals of the President is to develop economy by increasing tax revenues. However, this will put more pressure on the country’s economy. This will result in boom-bust cycle and inflation. In this respect, it can be said that Trump waned a supply-side economics. In his viewpoint, tax cuts will ensure that economic growth is not affected. On the contrary, originator of this theory believes that a high tax is required to be levied to ensure success of this strategy. In his twitter campaign, Trump demonstrated the fact that debt can be minimized by reducing wastage on PR campaigns.

In the election campaign of Trump, resistance to globalization is regarded as one of the most essential and significant policies. In the initial years of his governance, he tried to for withdrawing from NAFTA. The country has a closed economy. Almost 11% of the country's economy is accounted to global trade. America has huge migrant stock, which accounts for 4% of the world’s population (Fidler, 2017). Trump’s decision to restrict migrants will have a direct impact on the global economy. It can be said that Trump's entry into the political s of US has put effect on globalisation. After looking into his policies, it can be assumed that an anti-globalisation agenda is going to be delivered by Trump. One of the major concerns of the country is the extent to which his policies will help the country to fulfill their globalisation agenda.

Earlier Trump’s policies complied with Yellen because he found her to be an able person. The president aimed at reducing interest but later he decided to increase the interest rate (Divounguy et al. 2017). He then accused Fed for keeping a low interest rate policy, which has resulted in class inequality. Trump has continued to ignore monetary policies. He seems to have taken advantage form the growth cycle. As per the decision of Trump, continuous growth plays a significant role in budget. The tax cuts have been fully funded by the president. The reason given by Trump for the collapse of manufacturing industry in America is free trade policy. A general belief held by the president is that globalisation has resulted in more pain rather than gain (Ezell & Policy, 2017). It is responsible for cheap consumer goods as well as lower wages. In respect to concept of outsourcing jobs, Terumo held a view that trade is one of the solutions for resolving economic stagnation. It is often found that the president have made fake promises like building multi-billion dollar wall and will instigate Mexico to pay for this. Mostly, the Americans are frustrated with tax policies of the president. However, in order to reduce frustration of the citizens, Trump has promised to reduce taxes for middle class people. An analysis of Trump's tax pal have revealed that his tax policy wi8ll give benefit only to the rich people rather than middle-income groups. He has tried to support reduction of corporate taxes from 35% to 15 % (Baiman, 2016).

The study illustrated the fact that president of America has been unable to develop economy of the country. It can be said that the possible reason behind failure of his policies is his knowledge regarding fiscal policy. Although the president has tried to generate employment by reducing outsourcing of workers to other countries, fruitful outcome cannot be inclined. Initially the study has tried to identify the administrative policies of Trump for growing value of dollar has been achieved in this study. Although Trump has tried to bring a change in the economic policies of America but he failed to do so. In order increase value of dollar in the international monetary fund, it is quite essential to reduce inflation and generate employment opportunities. This will result in growth of dollar in the global economy.
