Introduction

The bio psychosocial factors refer to the integration of social, biological and psychological factor which are necessary for the well-being of a person. The wellbeing of a person strongly highlights the entire mental, social and health strength of a person and helps to lead a quality life. In the current scenario, the bio psychosocial factor is very much necessary in order to achieve a sustainable life and it can enhance the social development. Thus, in the current essay, this bio psychosocial aspect has been highlighted in order to evaluate its role in the society and wellbeing of the individual for leading quality of life.

LO1. Demonstration of bio psychosocial factors in the person's lifespan perspective [GA1, 5]

Being a chain smoker Mr. Ying is seeking help from the healthcare expert in order to mitigate this habit. According to Barkway (2013), in case of a patient with the habit of smoking, it might be difficult to quit smoking due to immense addiction that intensifies after years of smoking. It has been noticed that due to short advice and sort time for counselling, a person might double their chances of smoking. In the current case, Ying needs an effective counselling process which can provide him appropriate motivation in order to change his habit of smoking. As stated by Brannon, Feist & Updegraff (2013), in case of a smoker, the nicotine acts like other drugs such as heroin or cocaine which has a strong potential for addiction. Ying has also planned to quit smoking although due to lack of planning, it has been failed. Thus, in order to mitigate the smoking habit, the Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is given to him.

On the other hand, before starting this therapy, the person, Mr. Ying needs to be provided with a motivational interview by the counsellor in order to accumulate all the aspects of bio psychosocial factors. Stein-Parbury (2017) suggested that, with the help of motivational interview session, five principles need to be taken care such that the counsellor can listen to the view of Mr. Ying with empathy in order to make the person comfortable. Apart from this, the counsellor might not argue with Ying and slowly can develop a discrepancy in the values and goal. As opined by Andrews & Hicks (2017), this process helps the person to distinguish between the current and future bio psychosocial strategy in life. With the help of this motivational interviewing method, the healthcare councillor can initiate the biological and psychological development of the person followed by proper social life.

LO2. Description of the impact of resilience in the behaviour of human [GA5]

There is a huge gap between a resilience procedure in rapid and in a sustainable way in which the rapid resilience sometimes show health deterioration of the patient. Thus, in order to provide proper treatment, the slow but effective procedure of bio psychosocial therapy has been chosen for Mr. Ying. According to Asfar, Lam & Lee (2015), among the biological aspect, the counsellor might follow up the physical addiction type of the patient. Ying is used to taking one packet of cigarette regularly and he is trying to withdraw the smoking habit. However, in this scenario, the counsellor can provide relieving therapeutic measures such as NRT like a patch, lozenge gum, nasal spray or inhaler to the person in order to conduct the first stage of the therapy. On the other hand, Billett (2016) argues that the psychological therapy requires a bidirectional involvement in activities from both patient and counsellor.

In order to reduce the biological craving, Wellbutrin or Zyban can be provided which further trigger on psychological activities such as behavioural and cognitive improvement. As argued by Efraimsson et al. (2015), the behavioural and cognitive change refers to the changing of strategies such as "Smoking is not an option". There is a coping strategy that can also be incorporated such as self-help management skills in order to lower stress. On the other hand, socially Ying can be developed of copping which triggers the non-smoking lifestyle. According to Jennings (2017), in this situation, the person needs to understand the effect of passive smoking on his surroundings and the severe effects of this on children and pregnant women.

LO3. Demonstration of the impact of human behaviour psychology in health and wellbeing [GA6]

As per the transtheoretical model, the person changes his behavioural strategy by the five-stage development. According to Matcham et al. (2017), this process can be initiated with the contemplation process which refers to making the person think seriously about the issue. In case of Ying, this process has been already initiated by him and he has approached the counsellor in order to mitigate the health issue. Thus, initiation and understanding the issue for own health makes the counselling process smoother. However, Smiddy, O'Connell & Creedon (2015) argued that the next process of contemplation is another significant aspect which might show some adverse consequences. Mr. Ying might also show this adverse health condition due to the psychological and biological craving for nicotine. In this stage, the patients might get troubled with high BP and fluctuation of vital signs which the therapist needs to monitor properly. According to Spear et al. (2016), the next step of preparation refers to the small changing in the behaviour of the person in which a positive approach can be noticed from the site of the patient.

Stages changing

This step is followed by the action step which involves the implementation of NRT and other drugs to Mr. Ying which is the major part of changing of bio psychosocial aspect. According to Valentine, Nembhard & Edmondson (2015), in case of a patient with the habit of smoking, it might be difficult to quit smoking due to immense addiction that intensifies after years of smoking. It has been noticed that due to short advice and sort time for counselling, a person might double their chances of smoking. In the current case, Ying needs an effective counselling process which can provide him appropriate motivation in order to change his habit of smoking. In the end, it is essential for the therapist to make sure the sustainability of process and handling of temptation for smoking. Along with this the self-management to handle the stress is also necessary in order to achieve the quality of health and lifestyle socially.
