As a senior in high school, you are expecting to consider the college for at least a new chapter in life. Parents, teachers, society and the media tell you that now is the time to accept a career and pursue quality education which will eventually provide a well-paying job. Most of the time it involves going to a prestigious university or private college outside high school, but the times are changing.
In fact, a famous figure suggests that 80% of the college's latest man has messed up big companies, which is a great way to say that most people of the 18 years do not really know what they want to do. Surprise? I do not think so. Fortunately, many students are starting to recognize it and are considering options that do not include excessive loans from traditional four-year universities.
If you are a part of the majority and fall into that 80% category, then there are many benefits to participating in community college outside high school. Since you are not ready to choose a major, you can start by taking the main classes which are necessary for most of the upper division courses. This is a win-win situation because you are taking courses similar to most university fresh men without higher education and student loans.
Is it too good to be true? Many people believe that this low cost reflects a low education. This is a big misconception because many university professors start studying in community colleges. While classes in a community college can be mainly low level classes (level 1-200), you are still learning similar concepts which you will learn in the school of learning.
Most high school and college counselors will advise against taking one year, but this can be the perfect option for many students. Burning from school is a serious matter, and sometimes less heat breaks are not too long to reset and prepare for college responsibilities. Taking an extra year is a great way to gain valuable life experience and make more informed and mature decisions about studying in college.
During an interval year foreign travel or volunteer abroad is popular, which provides a fantastic opportunity to create your resume and experience different cultures while having fun! It is also a smart way to work full time to help pay college and gain experience.
The funding school is a unique situation for every person, and in the institute you go to extensively, it determines the types of available types.
Keep in mind that many community colleges do not participate in the federal student loan program because they are considered responsible for the students, which is one of the five in the first three years of repayment. This can be a big roadblock because private student loans have high interest rates and require a good credit score to qualify. If you choose community colleges, try to join the person who provides federal credit to make the process easier. Remember to apply for scholarship and look at work-study programs as other options!
Whether you are planning to move to a large school or not, you should still be prepared to face a high tuition bill under the road. If you can, then you are still studying and starting a savings account while considering your loan refinance during your senior year. Expenses of small college expenses like food plans and books increase, so if you can cook at home and buy books that are always used.
In fact, in college, it is easy to forget student loans, especially when the school does not require repayment until it is out for a full year. It can be difficult, but try to be educated about student loans by becoming aware of your debt and taking personal finance courses and searching for your loan terms.
It’s Your Life
The pressure to attend college can come from parents, older siblings, peers and society. Since you are experiencing this infection in adulthood, keep your best interests in mind and decide which will affect your life positively!
