The submission is in the form of two documents/files:
1. A ten-minute Microsoft® PowerPoint® style presentation to be presented to a client. The presentation can include links to performance data with additional speaker notes and a bibliography using the Harvard referencing system. The presentation slides for the findings should be submitted with speaker notes as one copy.
2. An extended guidebook or detailed report that provides more thorough, evaluated or critically reviewed technical information on all of the topics covered in the presentation.
You are required to make use of headings, paragraphs, subsections and illustrations as appropriate, and all work must be supported with research and referenced using the Harvard referencing system.

You are working as a Security Technician for a small, Filton based security firm, specialising in security for the engineering and aeronautical industry.The company recently won a contract to review and improve security at anengineering business in Filton. Although the review is on-going, an immediate short-term project has been approved for the development and delivery of a staff security induction programme to help train new staff members on the tools and techniques associated with identifying and assessing IT security risks together with the organisational policies to protect business critical data and equipment.
The project manager has asked you to prepare an engaging security induction presentation for aeronautical engineers, who will have some responsibility for security.
Your presentation should include:
1. Types of security risks, with illustrations appropriate to the sector.
2. A review of security procedures, appropriate to the sector.
3. A method by which staff could assess and treat IT security risks.
In addition to your presentation you should also provide an extended guidebook containing further information for staff or a detailed report containing a technical review of the topics covered in the presentation.
Your extended guidebook or detailed report should include a summary of your presentation as well as additional, evaluated or critically reviewed technical notes on all of the expected topics.
As you talk through the task with your line manager, she suggests you may like to investigate issues around trusted office network. She directs you to have a conversation with the infrastructure specialist to draw on the real-world issues of remote access (firewall polices and VPN) and the implementation of a DMZ through static IP and NAT to improve Network security. As you part, she comments that she would be interested to hear how you would approach assessing and treating security risks and the benefits of network monitoring.
