Introduction

This study has shed light over the new age of technology and the use of ROBOTICS in the industries. In the present technological scenario, the industries are more concern about the interaction between the human and robotics as this can bring perfection in the manufacturing, and healthcare industries. This chapter will make a discussion on the data collection process to do the research work on the Human Robotics interaction and its usefulness in different segments.

Data Collection

a. Identification of the data sources and collection

The data sources are dependent on the secondary data collection process. The total research work is dependent on the research papers and the documents related to the robotics technology, control system and the interface for the interaction between the human and robots. In order to gain knowledge on the technology and the factors, the primary source of the secondary data is "Google Scholar”. This is the authentic source for data collection as anyone can look for the research works and the papers on the subject (Fusch & Ness, 2015). In order to find the proper or related papers specific keywords are used which is "Human robotics interactions and coordination". After searching by a keyword there was the result of 112 papers from where two recent studies were selected for the research work. In order to enhance the research work and more general research on the mentioned topic “VU Library”. In this source of research data, the researcher has used two keywords, “Robotics" and "Human-robot coordination”. In both the search there was result showing 1158 and 751 works of literature and researches. From the sources, three files were chosen on the Robotics only and five files for the Human robotics coordination. However, these sources contain most of the general studies, which lack information on the specific technology. In order to enhance the research on the technology used on the interaction between the human and robots, the researcher has used sources of research data such as IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), NTIS( National Technical Information Service) and STINET( Scientific and Technical Information Network). From IEEE the researcher has used the keyword such as Robotics frontiers and Mobile Robots. In this, search the number of result show was 4401 and 857 from where the latest three and 4 files were chosen from each to enhance the research work based on technology. In the source, STINET used keywords are Situational awareness in the use of robotics in the industries and Human robotics interactions. In the research, there were 332 and 636 results from their two and five files were chosen for the research work. In order to enhance the knowledge on the control system knows the researcher has used NTIS as the source of data where the used keywords for the research work are  Coordinated Control and Human robotics. From this search, the total five files were chosen to enhance the research work.

b. Description of the available data

In order to enhance the research on the technology used on the interaction between the human and robots, the researcher has used sources of research data such as IEEE, NTIS, Google Scholar, VU Library and STINET (Johnston, 2017). In order to collect data from different sources the researcher has used deferent keywords such as  “Human robotics interactions and coordination”, “Robotics”, “Human robotics coordination”, “Robotics frontiers” and “Mobile robots”. The collected data are as followed.

c. Documentation of the collected data and storing them

In order to enhance the research process, the researcher has shed light over the storing process of the collected data. The overview of the stored data is given below.

Experiment design and Implementation

a. Adoption of data pre-processing

In order to collect data, the researcher has opted to different sources such as IEEE, NTIS, Google Scholar, VU Library and STINET. The methodology of the data collection system sheds light over the secondary data collection process where all the data are dependent on the secondary sources (Choy, 2014). In order to enhance the research work, the researcher has given importance towards the general research papers and the technical research papers in order to enhance the knowledge on the concepts of Robotics and the technology used in the programming of the robotics technology. In order to enhance the research work, the researcher has given importance towards the recent researches. The current research topic in the segment of engineering and technology is on robotics technology. On the other hand, most of the recent researchers have given importance towards the advancement of this technology to make it autonomous and promote a better Human Robotics Interaction. In the different sources, there are a number of available research files such has 1939 files in VU Library, 112 in Google Scholar, 5258 in IEEE, 968 in NTIS and 990 in STINET. In order to promote the research, the researcher is unable to go through this large number of files. In order to make the research work easier, the researcher needs to short the files and pre-process to select the most appropriate files for the research work. The raw data cannot be used in the research work as it can affect the research work with the multidimensional and direction of the different research works. The fundamental of the research work is the robotics technology. In this case, there can be different paths as there are different uses of robotics technology and there are different techniques used on the robotics based on the advancement. In order to short, the contents in the sources the researcher have given importance towards the certain keywords, which are related to human robotics interface (Guend et al. 2017). Keywords that the researcher has used to make the research work authentic and unidirectional are  “Human robotics interactions and coordination”, “Robotics”, “Human robotics coordination”, "Robotics frontiers" and "Mobile robots". Hence, in the preprocessing stage, the researcher has selected a few numbers of research papers to analyze the technology used for human-robot interaction and collaboration. A selected number of files from each source are 8 files from VU Library, 2 from Google Scholar, 7 from IEEE, 5 from NTIS and 7 from STINET.
